
Jennifer Hill-Barlow (Co-Artistic Director)
Jennifer received her early training from: the Clytie
Adams School of Ballet, the Ballet West Conservatory, the Boston
Ballet School, the University of Utah Concurrent Program and the
State Berlin Ballet School in Germany all on scholarship. She
continued her studies at the nationally ranked University of Utah
Ballet Department, and was the recipient of the four year, full
tuition Willam F. Christensen Scholarship and a full teaching
fellowship grant. At the U of U Jenny was a member of the
Utah Ballet Company for four years as an undergraduate and served
as the company's Ballet Mistress along side of Attila Ficzere
during her gradute studies. She performed many Principal
roles including Giselle in Giselle and Swanhilda in Willam
F. Christensen's Coppelia'; which she was cast and personally
coached by Mr. Christensen himself. She received her BFA Ballet
Performance(98) and MFA Ballet Teaching/Choreography(03) from
the U of U.
Jenny's professional experience includes dancing
as a company member with the Cincinnati Ballet Company and the
Gaungzhou Ballet Company in China where she danced numerous principal
and soloist roles in the following ballets: "Rubies,"
"Lady of the Camillias," "Don Q Pas de Deux,"
"Moody Moves," "Butterfly," "Sleeping
Beauty," "Swan Lake," "Con Amore'," "Il
Distrado" and "The Princess and the Pea." She has
been a guest artist with Ballet West in their productions of:
"Rosalinda," "Sleeping Beauty," and "The
Nutcracker." She spent two seasons performing at the Tuacahn
Performing Arts Center where she performed in the following musicals:
"Utah!," "Oklahoma" and "The Sound of
Music." With Tuacahn Jenny served as the shows dance captian
and choreographed the pre-shows. Most recently Jenny and her husband
Blake lived in New York where Jenny spent two seasons performing
in the Radio City Christmas Show starring the World Famous Rockettes.
She has taught, directed and choreographed for over
13 years, and has been on faculty with the: the Ballet West Academy
in Salt Lake, the Ballet West School in Ogden, the Cincinnati
Ballet School, Clytie Adam's School of Ballet, Westchester Ballet
and countless other private studios in: New York, New Jersey,
Connecticut, California, Washington and Utah. She has also taught
at Brigham Young University where she served as the Co-Artistic
Director of the Ballet Showcase Company and she is currently on
faculty with the prestigious University of Utah, Ballet Department.
She has choreographed for: the University of Utah Ballet Department,
Brigham Young University Dance Department, Youth American Grand
Prix, Tuacahn, Layton City Arts Council, Clytie Adam's School
of Ballet and the Ballet West Academy. Jenny is a proud member
of both A.G.M.A. and A.G.V.A. performing unions and is a memebr
of the Corps de Ballet International. Jenny is married to Blake
Barlow, and they are the proud parents of their son, Dash Barlow.
Blake Barlow (Co-Artistic Director)
Blake received his early training from The Jr. Shakespeare Company in Salt Lake and the University of Utah's Theatre School for Youth. Blake then received a four year scholarship to study with the Actor Training Program at the University of Utah, graduating with a BFA in Theatre, and a minor in Child Drama. During his time at the U, Blake spent 2 summer seasons with the Sierra Repertory Theatre in Sonora, CA where he earned his Actor's Equity card, and was one of 5 senior students selected as a Pioneer Theatre acting intern. After graduation Blake moved to New York with his wife and acted in several productions in Manhattan including the Sam Shepherd Festival with the Michael Chekhov Theatre Company, Kate Crackernuts at The Flea Theater and played the lead role of Berenger in Ionesco's Rhinoceros at Altered Stages. Blake worked as a Sundance Theatre Artist in Residence. He has directed for the University of Utah's Theater School for Youth, The Jr. Shakespeare Company and Stage Right Theatre Company. Blake and his wife Jenny co-choreographed the Manhattan Temple Jubilee which was performed at the famous Radio City Music Hall in New York. |
