The Story: In late June of 2018 we found out our beloved building that had housed us for 9 years was being demolished, and that our lease would not be renewed at the end of August. That gave us only 2 months to find a new home! But we were determined not to just find A home, but to find OUR home.
Many spaces were considered, but like Goldilocks, we felt that this one was too big, that one was too small, that one was too old, and all of them were for short term leases. We were committed to find our permanent and perfect home. We owed it to our dancers!
Spoiler Alert: WE FOUND IT! AND WE BOUGHT IT!
We are very excited to announce we will be moving into a brand new building in Pleasant Grove! We will have 4 brand new studios, two of which will be large marquis studios 51’ wide by 34’ deep, (for perspective, Studio A in Lehi was 36’x36’.) We have been working diligently with Sam Brady Architects and can share the first and second level floor plans, see below.
So what’s the timeline? Well, it’s construction, so we can’t give a definitive move-in date yet. But we expect hammers to be hitting nails right after Thanksgiving, and to keep this page updated with progress. As soon as we have a better idea of when we can start filling our new spaces with music and dance we will communicate it to all our families.
One thing is for sure: we have the BEST dancers and families in this state, and we are VERY APPRECIATIVE of the patience and good will you have shown us in our temporary lodgings. We couldn’t be more appreciative of J.Julip for the help and accomodations as we move into this exciting new chapter for Barlow Arts Conseratory!
