PRE-BALLET 1

advanced creative movement; introduction to ballet vocabulary

PRE-BALLET 2

introduction to fundamentals of ballet technique
- Open to continuing
B.A.C. Pre-Ballet 1 students approved by the School Directors
for advancement to Pre-Ballet 2; additional openings for
girls and boys new to the school generally5- 6 years of
age at the time of enrollment
- Previous formal
training recommended but not required
- No audition required

LEVEL 1A &
1B
- CURRICULUM CONTENT:
beginner ballet technique
- Open to continuing
B.A.C. Pre-Ballet 2 students approved by the School Directors
for advancement to Level 1A and 1B; additional openings
for girls and boys new to the school generally age 6-8
and older assigned to Level 1A and 1B after an audition
placement process
- Previous formal training
acceptable but not required
- Level I 1hr. ballet,
45 mins. musical theatre required per week
- Level I accelerated is by invitation
only and meets for an additional 1hr. ballet class per
week. Accelerated level I students may attend the level
II jazz class if they desire but it is not required.
- Enrollment is first-come,
first-served with priority extended to re-enrolling pupils
in good standing
LEVEL 2
- CURRICULUM CONTENT:
advanced-beginner ballet technique
- Open to continuing
B.A.C. Level 1A and 1B students approved by the School
Directors for advancement to Level 2; additional openings
for girls and boys new to the school, generally age 7-9
and older assigned to Level 2 after an audition placement
process
- 1 full year of previous
classical ballet training required (pre-ballet not included)
- 2 hrs. ballet, 45
mins. jazz, 45 mins. musical theatre required per week
- Level II accelerated
is by invitation only and meets for an additional 1hr.
ballet class per week.

LEVEL 3
- CURRICULUM CONTENT: intensified advanced-beginner ballet
technique
- Open to continuing B.A.C. Level 2students approved by
the School Directors for advancement to Level 3; additional
openings for girls and boys new to the school generally
age 9-12 and older assigned to Level 3 after an audition
placement process
- 2 full years of previous classical ballet training required
(pre-ballet not included)
- 2.5 hrs. ballet, 1 hr. pointe prep. 45 mins. jazz, 45mins.
musical theatre required per week
- Accelerated level III is by invitation only and meets
for an additional hour and half ballet class per week.
- Enrollment is first come, first-served with priority
extended to re-enrolling pupils in good standing
LEVEL 4
- CURRICULUM CONTENT: intensified advanced-beginner
ballet technique including preparatory pointe
- Open to continuing B.A.C. Level 3 students approved
by the School Directors for advancement to Level 4, additional
openings for girls and boys new to the school generally
age 11 and older assigned to Level 4 after an audition
placement process
- 2-3 full years of previous classical ballet training
required (pre-ballet not included)
- 3 hrs. ballet, 1 hour pointe prep., 45 mins. musical
theatre, 45 mins. jazz
- Accelerated level IV is by invitation only and meets
for an additional hour and half ballet class per week.
- Enrollment is first come, first-served with priority
extended to re-enrolling pupils in good standing
- Important Note: Advancement to level 3 is determined
by the School Directors only when a student as achieved
the following:
- Commitment to his or her ballet training and consistently exemplary work
- Comprehensive grasp of ballet vocabulary covered in the first three years of instruction
- Satisfactory record of attendance
- Potential for pointe work proficiency
Level Int./Adv.
- CURRICULUM CONTENT: preparatory pre-professional ballet
technique, pointe, jazz and musical theatre
- Open to continuing B.A.C. Level 4students approved
by the School Directors for advancement to Level 5; additional
openings for girls and boys new to the school generally
age 12 and older assigned to Level 5 after an audition
placement process
- 3-4 full years of previous classical ballet training required (pre-ballet instruction not included)
- 4.5 hrs. ballet technique, 3.5 hrs. pointe work, 1 hr.
jazz, 1 hr. musical theatre required per week
- Enrollment is first-come, first-served with priority extended to re-enrolling pupils in good standing
- Important Note: Advancement to Level Int./Adv. is determined
by the School Directors, only when a student as achieved
the following:
- Commitment to his or her ballet training
and consistently exemplary work
- Comprehensive grasp of ballet vocabulary
- Satisfactory record of attendance
- Physical Characteristics especially
suitable for intensive, professional caliber training
and performing (e.g., flexibility, straight back, legs
turned out from hips, proper foot arch, slender trunk
and limbs, presentable appearance) and considerable
strength and stamina
- Musicality
- Discipline, focus, reliability and professional
attitude
- Desire and potential for artistic growth
and improvement

Musical theatre classes
are open to students not enrolled in regular ballet classes.
Jazz is only offered to students enrolled in ballet.
· All
students are reassessed during the first week of classes
to ensure that they are placed in the proper level that
is most beneficial to the individual student. |
